About Luke
I am a current Senior at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. I am in my 3rd year of tutoring and have fallen in love with it. I love the puzzle of trying to figure out how to best tailor a session to an individual. I won the distinguished Teacher's Assistant award at the end of my sophomore year and then, due to time constraints, volunteered unofficially this past year as a teaching assistant again. This past semester I had 8 separate students come to me for private tutoring, while working with roughly 20 the whole semester including my volunteer work with the chem department. I am currently their only recommended tutor for the general chemistry sections, and would love to help anyone in need!

In my first lesson I prefer to set a groundwork for the future lessons, learning individual goals (improving confidence, learning how to interpret questions, and solidifying and connecting concepts across different units to see the big picture). The student's learning style determines how I teach the lesson. Some students need to have the lesson re-explained to them, allowing them to ask questions as we go, others need to try to work through the material themselves with just a little push along the way to make it over the finish line. Some people think in numbers, and others conceptually. There is no one way in which I tutor someone, I really try to tailor each lesson to the specific student's learning style.
