About Ben
I am a secondary school science teacher, currently teaching the combined AQA trilogy course to GCSE alongside Biology and Chemistry in the separate science GCSE route.
Mock results for my current year 11 students indicate record results for the school.
Academically, I have recently completed a PhD in microbiology at the University of Southampton following my undergraduate course in Biomedical Sciences. I am also currently completing a PGDE to ensure my teaching utilises the best evidence based methods.

For KS3 students, my tutoring follows an exploratory approach seeking to develop a deep understanding of a topic through exploration of the topic and associated practical work.
For KS4 students, my tutoring will normally focus around a particular sub-topic within the exam board specification building to the collaborative completion of an exam question or questions. You'll then have opportunity to practice applying the knowledge before we review this at the start of our next session.
For higher level students, particularly those at university, my tutoring will look to identify and address specific areas which require development in your existing knowledge base.
