About Caitlin
Hello! I am a professional educator who has worked in middle and elementary schools for the past 7 years!
My goal is to help students gain confidence, realize their capacity to grow and excel in what they are passionate about, and develop skills to be successful in life. My own love for learning and attention to detail help me guide students sucessfully they navigate problems.

I start with an activity to break the ice and get students thinking! During a tutoring lesson, I use a "chunk and check" approach: explain and model a target concept, breaking it down in smaller parts/steps, then provide activities/problems for student to practice, paying attention to where (if) they get stuck. I like to use manipulatives, images, and real-world examples.
I facilitate an academic drop-in turtoing space called Learning Lounge, where I work with around 20 stuednts per day, ostly in math and reading. I also facilitate ESL clubs each week. I am most comfortable and experienced workingup to middle school grade levels.
