About Ben
My own interests are in the history of modern Britain and its relationship with the wider world, especially Europe.
This interest in British History was sparked as a child with visits to places like Warwick Castle and Bosworth Field. In addition to studying original texts and papers today in university archives in, for example, Cambridge, York, NYU and Colombia, I actively seek out ways to witness and engage in history first hand (visiting battlefields, stately homes, museums etc.) I bring this passion to my tutees by encouraging them to understand and visualise the history we are studying together.
I am also a big proponent of theory and provide my tutees with diverse range of theoretical frameworks that will help them better understand the past.

My tutoring is designed for advanced students studying History at A-Level and beyond. I work from this established commitment to the subject to push my tutees towards new intellectual heights of curiosity, knowledge, and understanding, which is then reflected into their school work and exams.
I expose my tutees to an advanced syllabus of historical methods, sources, and arguments that compliments their school work, as well as tailored support with their writing.
For university admissions, I help my tutees with their Personal Statements and preparation for Cambridge and Oxford (admission tests and interviews).
