About Bethany
Hi! My name's Bethany and I'm currently a 4th year medical student at the University of Newcastle.
I offer teaching in GCSE / A level Biology, Chemistry and English Literature all of which I achieved A*s in myself.
I also offer Medical School interview prep and application advice to those hoping to get a place to study Medicine.
GCSEs and A levels can have some tricky topics! I remember I would have found it really useful to have some extra one-on-one time to wrap my head around these outside of the classroom and ask those questions you may feel too silly to ask your teacher (no question is too silly for me!) This is what I hope to provide you with through our sessions.
In terms of Medical School applications, I think these can be somewhat confusing and it is difficult to know what to do, or where to start unless you know someone who has done it before you. My aim is to help you jump through these hoops and support you in feeling your most confident on interview day! I was successful in all my Medical School interviews and had 4 offers back as a result. And, as I'm about to enter my final year of Medical School I feel I have some useful advice to offer on how to get here!

I teach GCSE / A level Biology, Chemistry and English Literature, all of which I achieved A*'s in myself. I also offer tutoring and guidance on Medical School applications and interviews including MMIs.
I teach regularly for the Universities MedEd society and act as regional lead for a charity aimed at helping students get into Medical School.
Lesson Length is flexible and can be tailored for what works for individual students.
Teaching is aimed at those preparing for GCSE exams, A levels or Medical School applications.
I ask that the student brings a list of topics they may struggle with or could use some extra help with. We will then spend some time going through these over a few lessons and I will set some practice questions for the student to have a go at. We will then aim to go through these in the next session together before moving onto another topic.
The aim of these lessons is to supplement school learning and hopefully over the student some extra time in a low-pressure environment to get their head round what can be some difficult topics!
