About Isla
I'm a writer and theater-maker in downtown Manhattan and a born and raised New Yorker. I write fiction, nonfiction, plays, comedy, and more. I'm an actor, director, and producer as well, and work at an off-Broadway theater company in Chelsea as a house manager and receptionist. I bring an open and honest dialogue to workshopping writing, and am frequently in workshop settings myself, so I understand the self-consciousness and intensity that can come with self-expression and sharing your writing with others.

I connect well with students of all ages and have worked as a writing assistant for a professional writer, as well as leading workshops in undergraduate programs on writing for performance, memoir, fiction, playwriting, and more.
