About Calla

I am a drum tutor with over 9 years of experience teaching School, College, and working professional students. My teaching style is calm, clear, and highly supportive. I help students understand rhythms, techniques, and coordination step by step so they can progress without feeling stressed. My lessons cover stick control, posture, timing, rhythm reading, independence, and style development. I also teach song interpretation, creative drumming, and performance confidence.

Every session includes warm-ups and structured exercises that help students grow consistently. I teach additional subjects such as basic music theory, rhythm training, ear development, and practice discipline. These skills help students develop a deeper understanding of music. My unique strength is my ability to explain difficult techniques in a simple way. I help students overcome challenges gently and guide them toward becoming confident drummers. My goal is to make learning enjoyable and meaningful for every student.

About the lesson

My drum teaching methodology is built on Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility. I believe that effective communication is the foundation of good learning. At the start of the journey, I learn about the student’s goals, favorite music styles, and experience level. This helps me design a lesson plan that fits their interests and makes them excited to learn. During lessons, I explain concepts slowly and clearly, making sure the student understands each step before moving forward. I keep communication open throughout the process so they can ask questions anytime.

Creativity is one of the most important parts of drumming. I encourage students to explore rhythm in unique ways, not just copy patterns from a book. We create grooves together, practice improvisation, experiment with tempo, and try rhythms inspired by different cultures and music genres. I use backing tracks so students can learn how to lock into a rhythm alongside other instruments. This helps build timing, musical flow, and confidence in performing. Creative exercises also reduce pressure and make learning fun.

Flexibility helps me adapt to each student’s learning style. Every learner is different, and I adjust the pace accordingly. If someone finds a technique difficult, I break it into very small steps and use different explanations or demonstrations until it becomes clear. If the student learns quickly, I introduce advanced rhythms, cross-stick patterns, polyrhythms, or groove variations. This ensures the student is always improving at a steady and comfortable pace.

In addition to drum lessons, I offer rhythm training, basic theory, and performance skills. I want students to understand the role of rhythm in music, not just how to play it. My goal is to build confident musicians who enjoy expressing themselves through drumming and feel proud of their progress.
