About Edward
I'm Ed, I study Computer Science at Nottingham Trent University and hope to inspire people to join an industry on the forefront of modern innovation. Ever since I first picked up Scratch in Year 8 I have been hooked on programming, choosing to study Computer Science at GCSE and carrying it onto A Level and degree level.
I started by programming games, I believe it is the best way to learn the initial fundamentals of software development in a fun and useful way.
I have experience in C, C#, C++ and Python having worked with those both at University and in my Internship at GE Aviation. I also have a strong knowledge of computer theory from my degree as well as database management and networking. As well as this, from my time as a Student Mentor at my University, I have experience in teaching and supporting students who have questions on a topic.
I can offer both my experience as a student, but also as someone who has worked in the software industry, teaching techniques that can be carried through into looking for a job in future and that employers are looking for at interviews.

I believe that the best way to learn Computer Science is through an interactive mixture of programming and theory, developing skills in algorithms, data structures and code analysis. This will be applied through 1 hour lessons, beginning with an interactive demonstration, following by working through a series of problems and ending in a final review of the material.
I am a Computer Science Student at Nottingham Trent University moving into the final year of my degree, I have achieved firsts across both my years of University and have just completed a year long industry placement, working for GE Aviation. I have also worked as a student mentor for my university, supporting first year students with topics they have struggled with, as well as giving career and pastoral advice.
I hope to inspire young people to get into the exciting industry and develop their skills for future careers. I teach Computer Science up to GCSE level.
