About Abdul-Hadi
I am a highly motivated individual who is attending McMaster University in the computer science program. I love programming and use my knowledge to create useful applications. For example, I developed an object-oriented application that utilizes several Python modules including sqlite3, pandas, beautiful soup 4, and more to track students' academic progress, their progress in co-op, and also store their supplies list for
institutions.
Additionally, I use my programming knowledge to benefit others in my community. For example, in the summer of 2018, I volunteered in the ADVENTURES IN ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE PROGRAM organized by the University of Ottawa. During this 7-week long program, I taught the participants the basic concepts of coding, saturated solutions, and more. Similarly in 2021, I helped members of my school’s coding club in coding and troubleshooting with a variety of programming languages. Moreover, when I was in grade 12, my computer class and I visited a local elementary school and help the children to gain an interest in computing. To motivate the children, I developed a website using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS that displays examples of various types of projects that can be designed using HTML, JavaScript, and SQL.

- I plan to help students by providing them with practice problems and healthy discussions.
-When I first meet with the student, I will first spend roughly 2 minutes having causal, fun conversation with him/her so that he/she will feel comfortable with me. Then, I will ask about how they are performing in that subject at school, and whether progress has been made (I do this so that I can take note on adjustments in my teaching approach that I must make). For the next 30-35 minutes, I will be giving the student practice problems to complete and explaining on the steps to complete the problems. Finally, in the last few minutes of the tutoring sessions, I will want the student to provide feedback to me about how I can improve as a tutor so that our sessions can be more useful/productive for him/her.
- The aspect that sets me apart from other tutors is that I try to establish a friendly connection between me and the student. For example, I start the sessions by having causal conversation with the student so that he/she will be relax during our sessions. Moreover, I try to enforce the idea to the student that the goal of the sessions is to benefit the student, and that I am always willing to improve myself as a tutor so that he/she can benefit maximally from our sessions.
- My lessons are designed for elementary, middle, and high school students who are interested in learning about math or computer science.
