About Funke
A little about me: I've always been fascinated by how things work — from the logic behind an algorithm to the elegance of a well-solved equation. I studied Software Engineering at King's College London university and I love that moment when a concept finally "clicks" for a student. Outside of tutoring, I contribute to open-source projects, swim and I play guitar in my church band which keeps me sharp and connected to the subjects I teach. I got into tutoring because I want to make CS and maths feel less intimidating for beginners, and I'd love to be great mentor to others coming up!

I'm a computer science, programming, and maths tutor with 5+ years experience helping students build confidence and genuine understanding rather than just memorising formulae or syntax.
My approach is hands-on and example-driven: we work through problems together, I encourage students to explain their reasoning out loud, and I tailor pace and difficulty to how each student learns best — whether that means more visual explanations, extra practice problems, or diving straight into code.
Lessons typically run 60 minutes, giving enough time to review previous work, tackle new concepts, and finish with practice exercises or homework. I hold a degree in BSc in Computer Science from King's College London and have 7+ experience as a data engineer and have taught at Key Stage 1 to GCSE level.
I currently work with students from GCSE through university undergraduates, covering topics from introductory programming (Python, Java, etc.) to more advanced computer science subjects like algorithms, data structures, and exam preparation. I also teach foundational maths from KS1 to pre-GCSE.
