About Jovana

Philologists of Romance languages I have a Bachelor's degree in French language and literature with Spanish as a second language. As a native Serbian speaker, discovering my way of acquiring other languages was very interesting and sometimes challenging. I did my studies to go deeper into languages. As a result, exploring languages led me to the point where I discovered my true passion, teaching languages. As a teacher, I am a good listener and patient when passing knowledge. I am passionate about the pure process of learning and learning how to learn. What I love so much is discovering how my students learn, making me an open-minded teacher. I enjoy clarifying what was unclear and helping you organize and use your existing knowledge.

About the lesson

I am experienced in teaching Spanish as well as French as a second language. My approach to learning is based on the ideas and theories of Steve Kaufmann and Stephen Krashen. The other techniques I apply are the TPRS learning method and learning with fairy tales. Why these methods? I based my teaching on this approach and method because it allowed my students to acquire languages naturally and spontaneously instead of learning them. Working with basic-level students focuses on the acquisition of words and the understanding and acquisition of language structures, after which the emphasis is transferred to oral and written expression. Working with independent-level students includes a lot of listening, speaking, and writing. Before our first class, let me know your goals, and I will pass you my ideas on how we will reach them!
