About Laureen

Actually, I stayed in education because the puzzle of helping others understand hard topics proved far more interesting than my previous employment. Balancing my Caltech degree in Physics with a deep dive into chemical bonding and the periodic table is a constant joy.

I assist students with mole concepts, complex trends and competitive exams. Plain talk comes first in my classroom. We only add the fancy, intimidating labels once the intuition is solid. I truly enjoy the moment a difficult idea clicks for a student who felt lost before.

About the lesson

Most lessons start with a blunt admission that chemistry is often taught backwards. My approach involves a homework module assigned with every single lesson to reinforce the specific patterns we identified. Relying on my 12 years of experience, we look at the periodic table as a map rather than a list. It helps to have a Caltech background when we navigate the heavier math of molar calculations.

By stripping away jargon, we focus on the structure of matter. I promise to keep the tone light while we work through these concepts together.
