About Hyeyoung

Hi. My name is Hyeyoung; I am a native Korean speaker, and I currently live in a wee town called Tillicoultry, in Scotland, UK. I desire to do more than teach a language but also introduce Korean culture too! (i.e., Food, K drama, K pop & history etc.) I am looking forward to learning & creating together. I do have 8 years of teaching experience. I have a qualification as a Korean teacher. I am an author of children’s books. If I could describe myself with only three words, I would pick enthusiastic, creative, and encouraging!

About the lesson

- Do I have to know some Korean before starting lessons? Not at all. Everyone is welcome to learn! - What is my teaching style? I use different materials like online textbooks, my own PPT, music & media clips, and articles, I like to connect the Korean language with what my students are interested in. - What should you expect? Fun, laughter, to grow in confidence in speaking Korean and developing a greater understanding of Korean culture.

I was impressed by Stephanie's passion and perseverance in learning Korean. She works full-time and takes classes early on Sunday mornings. She is diligent and does her homework very well. It is a joy to take classes with Stephanie.

There is a proverb in Korea that goes, ‘Hear one and know ten.’
It means that a person is so intelligent that he or she can guess several facts even after hearing a single word. Debbie is like that. I'm thrilled to speak Korean with her in Scotland. What a joy to meet her, keep going, Debbie! 🩷
