About Rab
I am a Columbia University chemistry major on the pre-med track and a Dean’s List student with a strong academic foundation in General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. I currently serve as a General Chemistry Teaching Assistant, where I support students in understanding complex concepts, solving problems, and preparing for exams in a fast-paced university environment.
As a first-generation college student who moved to the United States and worked full-time before starting my academic journey, I understand how challenging and intimidating STEM courses can feel. This experience allows me to connect with students who feel overwhelmed and help them build confidence in their abilities.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to change the way they see chemistry — from a memorization-heavy subject to a logical and manageable system. I am patient, supportive, and deeply committed to each student’s progress, and I bring proven study strategies that helped me succeed at one of the most rigorous universities.

As a Columbia University pre-med, Dean’s List student, and General Chemistry Teaching Assistant, I specialize in turning difficult chemistry topics into clear, logical steps. My teaching style focuses on breaking large concepts into smaller, connected ideas using drawings, reaction maps, and simple language so students understand the why behind the material instead of memorizing it.
We begin by strengthening the fundamentals and then move from easier practice problems to exam-level questions. This approach builds confidence, improves problem-solving speed, and leads to real grade improvement. I also teach proven study strategies, time management for STEM courses, and efficient ways to approach mechanisms, calculations, and multiple-choice exams.
My sessions are highly interactive, patient, and personalized to each student’s learning pace. I help with homework, exam preparation, and long-term content mastery so students don’t fall behind. Through my experience teaching at the university level, I know the most common mistakes students make and how to fix them quickly.
I work with high school, college, and pre-med students taking General Chemistry or Organic Chemistry, including those who feel lost and want a strong, supportive mentor to help them succeed and prepare for future courses and the MCAT.
