About Jesus
I am a Biology (Premed) student at Columbia University with four years of medical school training in Cuba and over a year of experience tutoring students at Columbia University through both individual and group study sessions. I have conducted neuroscience research on astrocyte networks and the oxytocin system, and I currently study mosquito-borne viruses, investigating how host proteins influence viral replication and infectivity. These experiences allow me to connect classroom concepts with real scientific research.
I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping every student succeed. Whether you're taking high school biology, a college-level course, or preparing for the MCAT, I will tailor each lesson to your goals and learning style. My focus is not only on improving grades but also on building confidence and a lasting understanding of biology.

My goal as a tutor is to help students truly understand biology instead of simply memorizing facts. For the past year, I have led both one-on-one and group study sessions as a tutor at Columbia University, where I learned how to adapt my teaching to different learning styles and academic goals.
I can help students with specific topics they're struggling with or teach a subject from the ground up. My lessons focus on building a strong foundation and reinforcing concepts through practice questions and problem-solving.
