I am an engineering student at NYU. I have tutored for various subjects over the last 3 years, including Algebra, the SAT, the SHSAT, and state exams. I was an tutor at a tutoring center and have taught students of ages 5-17.

My teaching method varies depending on how the student learns best. But usually I start each topic by first looking at examples and discussing with the student how they would approach it. This way the student can think critically about and understand the topic instead of simply learning definitions and memorizing. I like to give lots of practice problems so the student has the chance to fully understand a topic and improve their timing, which is especially important for high school students.
