About Mike
College graduate with nearly 15 years spent navigating corporate America and climbing the ladder of success. While my degree focused on History and Political Science, I ultimately found a career in Business Operations. Currently I am a Senior Analyst at a Fortune 200 company and am based in Charlotte, NC. While my career is in business, it was my knowledge of politics and my ability to apply historic principals that has driven my success. History is more about facts and government affects every aspect of business. There is power in understanding how we can use the past to affect change in our future!

Who are lessons for?
Middle school, high school and undergraduate students looking to either improve their grades or simply looking to broaden their understanding.
Teaching Methods:
I believe seeing is believing and in order to understand the concepts being taught, one must see them as they occurred. Through visual aids, videos, knowledge checks and mock re-enactments of real historical events, students will have the ability to see beyond the text of an article or book. in fact, my students will not just learn how government works, they will have the opportunity to actually simulate government.
My Approach:
I will admit, I had originally gone to college with the intention of being a Social Studies/Civics teacher—until life took my down a different and unexpected career path into corporate America. Nevertheless, I have never lost the passion fot educating. More importantly, I am passionate about history and seeing our future through the lens of our past! My approach is to ensure no student simply memorize historical facts, dates and names, instead, my goal is for every student to learn how to apply the conclusions drawn from powerful historical events. I am a strong believer that every citizen should have a well-rounded education in how their government functions and the politics that drive public policy.
