About Garrison
Garrison Hunt is a New York-based professional actor and vocalist with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Nazareth College. Known for his rich baritone/tenor voice and vibrant stage presence, Garrison has built a career embracing comedic, character, and larger-than-life roles in both classic and contemporary musical theatre. His credits include standout performances as Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, as well as roles in productions such as Guys and Dolls and Elf the Musical and many more! He has also appeared in new works, including stage readings of Convicted Again, and has graced cabaret stages such as 54 Below and Broadway Sessions in New York City.

Acting Lessons with Garrison Hunt
Curated Lesson Plan
1. Warm-Up & Presence (10–15 min)
We begin each session by grounding the actor—through vocal work, breath control, and physical awareness. This builds confidence, focus, and stage presence from the very start.
2. Acting Foundations & Styles (20 min)
Students are introduced to a range of acting techniques—from naturalism to more classical approaches. We explore how different styles shape performance and help actors discover what works best for them.
3. Script Analysis & Character Work (25 min)
A deep dive into the script:
Breaking down beats and dialogue
Identifying objectives and tactics
Understanding character motivations and relationships
Students learn how to approach any script with clarity and confidence.
4. Voice & Physicality (20 min)
Acting is more than words. We develop:
Strong, expressive vocal delivery
Intentional movement and body language
Awareness of how physical choices shape character
5. Stage vs. Film Acting (15–20 min)
Students gain practical insight into the key differences between performing for the stage and on camera:
Projection vs. subtlety
Blocking vs. framing
Sustaining energy vs. capturing moments
6. Scene Work & Feedback (15–20 min)
Students apply what they’ve learned through monologues and partner scenes, receiving personalized, actionable feedback to accelerate growth

Garrison is a great teacher. He helped with my vocal range, and breathing. This was a huge struggle of mine. I also needed help with audition prep, and despite the fact that they are last minute, he is able to squeeze in a session and really help me understand the material and calm my nerves.
