Matthew is a very well put together teacher, who knows more about English literature than any other person I know. When I had one of his classes, I found I was retaining a lot more information from his class than I was from other classes with different teachers. His teaching was easy to understand while still being very informative, and he was easily able to answer any questions I had when I didn’t understand our assigned reading of the odyssey, in addition to opening my mind up about different plots point in to book I initially thought as irrelevant. In addition to all this, I felt the best essays I ever wrote were on his class, as I was never a good writer, but he was able to help with formulate my thoughts into well expressed descriptions of why Eurylochus was far more important than what most people gave him credit for. Thanks to him and his classes, I was able to better prepare for college, and drastically improve my writing skills.

Matthew is by far one of the best literature teachers i ever had. There was never a class of his that was boring, he always made it very exciting and very interactive. He has a great sense of humor which he incorporates into his teachings. He will never let you fall behind, if anything he will coach you and help you unlock your full potential.
I still think of the classes he taught and the lessons he gave, even if they were over 15 years ago.
I would 100% gladly take another class of his.

Was always open to helping out his students when they needed it. Explains everything very clearly. No question is a stupid question, he will not judge you rather just explain it in a different way to help you understand. One of the best teachers I ever had and I wish I had him still in college!
