About Mara

I have been a language learner my whole life and I have been teaching Italian in New Zealand for about 10 years.
I taught adults at different levels: 1:1 classes, couple classes, group and conversation classes.
I want my students to feel that their effort translates into the ability they want.
I want my students to experience Italy from the inside as they will be comfortable to communicate with the Italian they have (little or a lot), when there.
For this reason grammar will be taught in context.
This is me.
Looking forward to meeting you and be part of your Italian learning journey.

About the lesson

Students come to me with a desire: to speak Italian!.
My approach and ways of teaching are aligned to fulfill that desire.
I want you to speak Italian from day 1 and this is what we will do from our first lesson and, from then on, we will keep building knowledge and confidence together.
I believe that to speak a language takes courage, the courage to make mistakes...above all if you are a perfectionist.
You don't need to know everything to begin communicating. You need a small amount of Italian, a way to use it and permission to make mistakes.
I am here if your desire is to communicate in Italian through regular opportunities to turn the Italian you know into sentences, questions and conversations.
So that you will be able to connect when you will be in Italy or to your Italian heritage and feel more confident along the way.
