About Cameron
Hello!
My name is Cam, and I've been a vocal tenor since the third grade, spending a year or two with knowledge in vocal performance and music theory. I have excellent pitch control, as well as syllabic pronunciation/stressing. Proper vowel shapes can in fact be taught, though a musical ear is difficult (though possible) to train. After a thorough musical and general education in grade school (Lawton Community Schools), I studied both psychology (neuroscience concentration) and choral performance for two years at Albion College with the primary director of musical operations as our choir director. I also attended seven paid vocal lesson sessions, and I now have a full-spectrum view of music from the director's point of view as well as the singers' (with emphasis on the musical theory behind each work). This would be my first time instructing/tutoring/giving lessons for pay, though I have assisted many a student with their honors choir pieces. I love to help and am considerably flexible regarding pay. My method of instruction is best described as the two (or more) of us learning a piece of music together, step by step, myself explaining each aspect as it is approached (vocal rests, dynamics, etc.). Lessons start with the general (reading music), and will progress over time until the student has reached their desired level of mastery.
