About Man
I'm a native Mandarin speaker from China, currently based in Birmingham. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and a Master's degree in Education from the University of Birmingham, where my research focused on how students experience and respond to feedback. Over the past 3 years, I've taught Chinese to learners of different ages and levels, and I've always been passionate about helping others discover not just the language but also the culture and thinking behind it. Teaching gives me the chance to share that passion while building real, supportive relationships with my students.

With 3 years of teaching experience, my approach combines structured grammar foundations with practical, real-life conversation practice, drawing on my background in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and my Master's research into how learners engage with feedback. I tailor each lesson to the student's goals, whether exam preparation, everyday communication, or business Mandarin. Lessons typically run 60 minutes and include personalised materials, pronunciation coaching, and regular progress reviews. I welcome complete beginners through to advanced learners, both adults and children, and enjoy helping students build genuine confidence in speaking Chinese.
