About Maggie

Hi! I'm Maggie and I started classically training for violin in kindergarten, so I have over 13 years of experience. I was concertmaster of many orchestras, including almost all of the honor school orchestras that I have been in. In the United States, I auditioned and was accepted to play first violin for All State Honor Orchestra, Western States Honor Orchestra, Youth Orchestra of the Rockies, Denver Young Artists Orchestra, and Poudre School District Honor Orchestra. All of these orchestras had people audition from all over the state of Colorado and more. I later moved to Thailand where I auditioned and got to travel to Singapore and Taipei for international music festivals. I also auditioned and got accepted to fly to Austria to participate in the AMIS orchestra, which is an extremely selective honor orchestra for international players all over the world. I am currently grade 8 level and can tutor for many concertos, fundamentals, skills, auditioning techniques, or just if you want to play for fun. Along with classical training, I also have an electric violin and a loop machine in which I street perform pop covers that I arrange myself. If you are interested in musical arrangements, looping, street performing, or combining classical and pop for the electronic side of violin, I am more than happy to share my processes and teach you how to get to where I am now!

About the lesson

Want to play classical Mozart in a recital hall or street perform Ed Sheeran on an electrical pop loop cover? Don't worry, I can help with both! I am a very flexible tutor that focuses on the success of my students. I recognise that every student learns differently, and/or may have different interests. Thus, I center my classes around what my student wants to learn - whether that be classical concertos, music composition, violin technique, or street performance in electrical violin looping. I am comfortable assigning, recommending, and providing pieces and concertos for the student, as well as etudes and skill building books. I am also happy to help with anything you bring to class and want some extra support with. I can conduct very traditional structured private tutoring violin classes, as well as very casual and flexible music working sessions - all based on what you need or want.
