About Starr
As a children's librarian, I love helping to inspire a love for reading and literature in children and youth. I have found joy in reading since I was a kid and want to help instill that passion for the future generations. I love all kinds of literature; Sci-Fi, YA, horror, contemporary, poetry, classics, children's fiction, non-fiction and comics.

I'm a Children and Youth Services Librarian with hands-on experience supporting young readers in a public library setting. I'm currently studying Information Studies online at Charles Sturt University (CSU), which keeps me connected to current best practice in literacy and library services. My work has given me daily experience with primary school-aged children, including running storytimes, recommending books, and helping children who are just beginning to find their feet as readers — as well as older students who need extra support to build confidence and skills.
My tutoring is designed for:
- Primary school-aged children (roughly ages 5–12) who are beginner to intermediate readers
- Secondary school students who are struggling with literacy and need a patient, non-judgmental approach to catch up
- Children who are reluctant readers, building phonics skills, or improving comprehension and fluency
I meet each student where they are — no shame, no pressure, just steady progress at their pace.
