About Luke
I am a passionate chemistry tutor and full-time Materials Engineer. My experience includes the following:
• Represented NZ at the 2010 International Chemistry Olympiad Competition - Bronze medalist (99th)
• NZQA Outstanding Scholar Award 2010 (Top 40 - 50 students in the New Zealand Scholarship Exams)
• Lab Tutor at NZ National Chemistry Olympiad Training Camp (2011 - 2014)
• BSc (Chemistry) and BE (Chemical and Materials Engineering) from University of Auckland 2015. Graduated first in Cohort with GPA 8.9/9 and 16 First-in-Course Awards.
Previously I worked at Studiosity for 2 years where I completed over 400 hours of online tutoring across >1000 unique Chemistry and Math lessons online. I also have 6 years experience teaching high school and undergraduate Chemistry face-to-face.

Effective tutors understand that students learn in many ways. I provide tailored support to students based on their current level of knowledge and empower them to navigate complex concepts by connecting new information with existing knowledge.
My lessons can be tailored for those who have just started their Chemistry journey to students looking for extension classes (such as the Australian Chemistry Olympiad Competition).
I have current WWCC (til Aug 2026) and am based in Bull Creek. Preference is face to face tutoring.
