About Mary
I have been a teacher for the last 15 years. I have taught regents chemistry, chemistry labs, advanced placement chemistry, quantitative analysis, and introductory chemical engineering to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. I have consistently had over 95% pass rates for regents exams. Many of my seniors have gone on to take the higher level courses in college and received high grades.

In my lessons I prefer to spend a short amount of time explaining a topic, and the primarily focus on problem solving and answering questions. For subjects that end in exams it is important not only to know the material, but to be able to understand how to answer the questions. For more advanced topics the focus is mainly on problem solving and how to use various methods of answering questions.
During tutoring sessions I find it important to pinpoint areas of weakness to reinforce and reteach. Giving brief reviews of other topics is also covered during tutoring sessions.
