About Jéssica
I've been studying and working with chemistry for about 15 years, starting in high school when I received my first degree as a chemistry technician. Since then, I earned a bachelor's degree with honors in chemistry from one of the best Brazilian universities (UFRJ). Most recently, I've completed my master's degree in Analytical Chemistry/Biochemistry.
Before moving to London, I worked as a chemistry technician for 10 years, where one of my responsibilities was to assist and teach students in their general chemistry laboratory classes. My teaching experience comes from these experimental classes, as well as from tutoring sessions I provided for classmates and friends during university and high school. Throughout my master's program, I also helped undergrad students at the beginning of their research careers, guiding them in their small scientific projects. All of them successfully passed their exams and mentioned that things became clearer and easier after our classes.
In addition to my extensive background in chemistry, I am passionate about making a positive impact through education. Back in my home country, I have actively engaged in voluntary work as a basic English teacher for individuals with limited financial means. This experience has not only honed my teaching skills but also reinforced my commitment to creating accessible and inclusive learning environments.
My English proficiency is adequate for teaching. While I am not a native speaker, communication will not be a problem.
