About Mich
I just graduated from McMaster in December with a major in Chemistry. Through my undergraduate studies at Mac, I have had the chance to learn areas of Chemistry such as organic, inorganic, physical and analytical, though later in my last two years I had focus on taking courses involving inorganic chemistry. However, this does not mean that I am not interested in organic chemistry. I am still fascinated by how chirality affects the properties of a molecule. During my fourth year, I had the opportunity to work in a research lab where I gained experience in various technical skills in addition to relevant knowledge to my project. I am currently in the process of applying to graduate school and I desire to continue my studies in Chemistry.

I believe in the student centred teaching model where the student and the tutor will both engage in the learning process. When it comes to tutoring younger student like high school students, my tutoring style will be more inquiry based where I engage the tutee by asking them questions that encourage them to reflect on their knowledge. However, for undergraduate students, my approach will be alternating the role between me and my tutee, this allows them to understand and retain the knowledge they learn. Meanwhile I will also have an insight on how well the tutee understand the concepts.
