About Lyra
My interest in chemistry began with a fascination for how simple substances could transform into something entirely new. Over the past eight years, I have turned that fascination into expertise and a strong dedication to teaching. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into understandable concepts and watching students experience the moment when everything finally “clicks.” Those moments of realization are what inspire me to continue giving my best every day. I approach teaching with clarity, patience, and empathy. I understand that many students find chemistry intimidating, so I work carefully to remove that fear and replace it with understanding. By providing continuous support and encouragement, I help students build both knowledge and self-confidence. I believe that when students feel safe and understood, their ability to learn grows significantly. Beyond teaching, I continue to study new scientific discoveries and expanded applications of chemistry. This helps me keep my lessons relevant and engaging. Chemistry is a subject that connects directly to life, technology, and the environment, and guiding students to recognize that connection is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

Chemistry is the study of matter and its transformations, and my lessons aim to make these invisible processes understandable and exciting. From the start, I focus on building a strong foundation in atomic structure, periodic trends, and basic chemical reactions. Abstract ideas are made clearer through examples, simple explanations, and visualization techniques. Students are encouraged to ask questions and actively participate, which helps them develop curiosity and deeper interest in the subject. The learning environment is calm and structured, allowing students to grasp concepts without feeling overwhelmed.
At the intermediate level, students explore chemical bonding, stoichiometry, acids and bases, and reaction rates. I guide them carefully through calculations and conceptual analysis, ensuring they understand both the “how” and the “why” behind each process. Practical applications and experiment-based explanations help them connect theory to real-world observations. Consistent practice and feedback strengthen accuracy and confidence, particularly in preparation for exams and laboratory assessments.
For advanced students, lessons include organic chemistry, thermochemistry, electrochemistry, and equilibrium systems. Critical thinking is emphasized as students analyze reaction mechanisms and theoretical models. Through deeper exploration and discussion, they gain a more mature scientific perspective. My ultimate goal is to help students not only succeed academically, but also develop respect and appreciation for the role chemistry plays in shaping the world around them.
