About Patrick
I was a teachers assistant for three sophomore year chemistry classes, working with them full time from Wednesday through Friday. My duties ranged from answering common questions on the board to explaining topics some students had trouble initially grasping. I had a 98 average in my Advanced Topics in Chemistry class at my highschool, which dives into college level topics and rigor. I am studying as a chemical Engineer next year at Wesleyan University

I am proficient in all parts of highschool level chemistry. Whether it be broader topics such dimensional analysis and molarity, nomenclature and bonding, and acid base solutions, or more complex and intangible topics such a electron configuration and molecular geometry, I have a background of rigorous academia and research, as well as a true passion for both the subject matter and the art of teaching. I have never felt more satisfied and accomplished seeing some of the sophomores I have tutored evolve from star-eyes freshman to devoted and fascinating juniors. My lessons are based of off what any student may need, but will regardless largely follow in the footsteps of the core curriculum at Ethical Culture Fieldston Highschool. I am a big fan of showing rather than telling, so a student should expect me to illustrate out and work through problems collaboratively, rather than simply assigning work and expecting a full depth of understanding through lecture.
