About Katherine

My Chinese teaching career began in early 2019, owing to an initial interest in teaching young children. The rewards, I quickly realised, were much more than only the delight of being with children, but also seeing how my students progressed with each lesson. I enjoy studying with my students, getting to know their cultures and learning styles, as well as discovering the contrasts and similarities across languages, and encouraging them to be brave to express themselves in Chinese by sharing my own challenges and humiliation while I am learning new languages like French and German.

I will adapt your class to your specific requirements. Regardless of your chosen method of instruction, your customised course will enable you to express yourself and reveal your individuality.

Comprehensive: listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation, and test prep. Regardless of the areas you choose to develop, we will confront the challenges and enjoy every win together.

I will provide a variety of exercises that will make learning language skills enjoyable.

I have worked with students from all around the globe, from absolute beginners to more advanced levels. They each approach learning Mandarin differently. I think that everyone has unique requirements and objectives, so whether you prefer a structured curriculum, thematic chat sessions, or test preparation, we will design a programme that is tailored to your preferences.

We shall begin by introducing ourselves. To better understand how I might help you, I will ask you about your motivations and objectives. I will also ask you some learning-related questions.

Then, we will engage in some learning exercises together, which will further assist me in determining what we can collaborate on.

Finally, we will determine the most suited lesson plan for you.
If you are a newbie in the language, do not worry. In this situation, our communication outside of the learning session may be done in English.
