About Heather
Special Education teacher with a business background. Over 15 years teaching Math and Special Education content classes. My entire education career has been teaching in a Title I schools with a very diverse student population. Being a co-taught teacher as well, my class size varies from 5 students up to 35 students at one time.

My teaching strategy is based off of Gwinnett County Public Schools Quality Plus Teaching Strategies. Since a majority of my classes are students with IEP's and have different learning capabilities, my lessons are geared toward differentiation of the material. I use formative assessments to guage where my students are in their learning and where we need to go to get to the mastery level of a concept. My lessons include a lot of movement and manipulatives.
