About Aimee
I am a certified teacher with a Bachelor's degree in History, I have 4 years teaching experience in the classroom. I have great passion for the subject matter and passion for each student's understanding of it. I study history outside of the classroom as well, so I'm always refreshing my knowledge and at the same time learning new insights to our past.

With all of the controversial divide that history has brought us my goal is to teach the subject correctly and Biblically. I will stress why history is important and that it's more than just memorizing facts, it's about learning skills that are transferable to other fields of study or professions. My lessons are catered mostly to 6-12 grade levels but am willing to make lessons for those in college level as well. My lessons will focus on vocabulary, research skills, with research projects a focal point, through research paper or presentations. Will also analyze documents, using primary and secondary sources. Will help to develop critical thinking skills, note-taking strategies, along with instilling good study habits. A typical lesson plan would consist of; -Bellwork- a beginning activity to get the brain warmed up -Direct introduction- giving background information -practice activity- this could include a worksheet or project work time if assigned. -Check of understanding- stop to review and make sure that the student understands the information before moving on. -summary- student will give an overview of the lesson and what they learned. Homework will be given only if time on their own is needed. Note: lessons are designed by state standards as well and students' learning needs. I also work with various online learning platforms to help in the comprehension process.
