About Vanessa
I am a 2015 graduate from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Arts (English) and a holder of a 128 hour TESOL certificate. I have just returned to Canada from South Korea, where I worked as an Elementary ESL teacher for three years. I also have ample experience with tutoring older age levels through the Teach North Korean Refugees organization in South Korea. I have worked with a range of English levels from basic beginner (ABC level) to Advanced beginner (Basic conversation). I am currently a full time student at the University of Ottawa as a teacher Candidate.

I am able to teach with a textbook or without - however, my preference has always been towards more hands-on activities for learning English. I especially thrive with younger learners as there are hundreds of options for ESL based games and activities. For older learners, I like to challenge them through in context practice and real-life experiences.
