About Jessica
I am a 6th year social studies teacher. I’ve taught US history, world history, government, economics, and reading. I have my master's in English as a Second Language and have worked with English Language Learners for the past 4 years. Reading is my favorite hobby and I love to foster that love to students. I am going back to school at APSU to get my doctorate and won’t have the time for a full-time classroom. Would love the opportunity to still teach students and share my love of learning.

I love project-based teaching the best. I think students learn best when they are heavily involved in their education process. When teaching social studies I want students to discover and develop their own ideas and understanding of history. When teaching English my methods are a little different. Learning English is a challenging adventure for anyone. I think making it connect to their culture and background is the best way for students to learn it.
