About David
Growing up in Houston, Texas — one of the most culturally diverse and bilingual cities in the United States — gave me an early appreciation for the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. I studied Spanish for four years at North Shore Senior High School in East Houston, and over the years my travels and professional experiences have taken me through New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Mexico, and across much of Texas and the United States, where I’ve had countless opportunities to engage with Spanish speakers from many different backgrounds.
My lifelong passion for the language and culture has given me a deep understanding of the challenges, nuances, and rewards that come with learning a second language. Because of that, I bring a patient, culturally aware, and conversational approach to teaching English as a Second Language — helping students not only understand English academically, but also feel comfortable using it naturally in real-life situations with confidence.
