About Srinivasaraghavan
Over the years, I have trained extensively in the classical tradition while continuing to deepen my understanding of raga, tala, composition, and musical aesthetics.
Beyond performance, my engagement with music extends to teaching, listening, research, and writing on the performing arts. As a freelance arts writer and critic, I regularly engage with concerts and performances, enriching my perspective as both a musician and educator.
Learning under a distinguished lineage has given me the privilege of imbibing a tradition that places equal emphasis on technical precision, aesthetic sensitivity, classicism, and a deep understanding of the nuances of Carnatic music. It is this approach that I strive to pass on to my students, helping them build not only a strong technical foundation but also a lifelong appreciation for the beauty and depth of the veena.

My approach to teaching emphasizes not only technical proficiency but also a genuine appreciation of the music. Students are encouraged to develop a strong foundation in posture, fingering techniques, gamakas, rhythm, and tone production while also understanding the beauty, emotion, and structure of the compositions they learn.
Whether teaching beginners taking their first steps or students looking to strengthen their classical foundation, my aim is to make learning the veena a rewarding and enjoyable journey.
Rooted in tradition, while remaining patient, systematic, and encouraging, I offer both Online classes through Zoom and Offline classes at Chennai.
