About Marta
I am currently in the second year of my PhD in brain cancer research. I hold a lot of practical and theoretical experience in molecular biology, genetics and cell biology to a postgraduate level. My undergraduate degree was in genetics and I then went on to do a masters degree at Imperial College in Cancer Biology.
During my PhD I have mentored and supervised undergraduate students and during this time as well as my university years I have also helped students prepare for GCSE's, helped with A-Level revision as well as primary school students with their science studies. During all this I have developed a love for sharing my passion for science and have found doing so through teaching and mentoring to be extremely fulfilling.
My own passion for science first developed in secondary school thanks to amazing teachers and tutors and I would therefore like to return the favour and do the same for children and teenagers that either struggle with science, or ones who are discovering their own passion for science.

My approach to tutoring is to adapt to the individual needs of each student and tailor the lesson plans to their current needs.
I hold online 1:1 sessions with pre-prepared lessons plans and PowerPoints as well as example questions for us to work through together as well as for the student to attempt alone.
My lessons are usually 1-2hours, but that can be flexible and adjusted to the students needs and timetable.
I have experience tutoring primary school, secondary school and sixth form aged students, with most of my experience being with GCSE preparation. However, I am equally confident in teaching A-level material and helping with primary school level science and maths.
