LESSON 1: Basic Grammar & Sentence Structure
Rule: A complete sentence has a Subject + Verb + Complete Thought
- Subject = who/what the sentence is about
- Verb = action or state of being
Examples:
- She reads books.
- They play football.
- I am happy.
Not correct: Running fast (no subject/complete thought)
Practice: Make 3 sentences using:
1. The cat
2. We
3. My teacher
LESSON 2: Common Tenses (Time of Action)
Used to say when something happens:
Simple Present → Habits / Facts
Structure: Subject + base verb (+ s/es for he/she/it)
- I eat rice every day.
- He works in an office.
- The sun rises in the east.
Simple Past → Actions already finished
Structure: Subject + past tense verb
- I walked to school yesterday.
- She bought a new bag last week.
Simple Future → Actions will happen
Structure: Subject + will / going to + base verb
- We will visit our relatives tomorrow.
- They are going to study tonight.
LESSON 3: Vocabulary & Daily Phrases
Useful words for everyday conversation:
Greetings & Introductions
- Good morning / afternoon / evening
- How are you? → I’m fine, thank you.
- Nice to meet you.
- What is your name? → My name is…
Common Expressions
- Please → used for requests
- Thank you / You’re welcome
- Excuse me → to get attention or apologize
- Sorry → for mistakes
LESSON 4: Speaking Practice Tips
1. Read aloud daily — improves pronunciation and flow.
2. Think in English instead of translating from your native language.
3. Keep sentences short at first; build longer ones later.
4. Correct gently — mistakes are part f learning!
