About Lorin
I am an enthusiastic and reliable A Level tutor specialising in Sociology and Media Studies. I achieved A*s in both subjects, finishing top of my Media class, and I am now studying Human, Social, and Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge, focusing on Sociology and Social Anthropology. I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential by breaking down complex ideas, strengthening essay-writing and analytical skills, and building confidence through encouragement and clear guidance. Having recently completed my own A Levels, I understand the challenges students face and adapt my lessons to suit different learning styles. My goal is to make learning engaging, supportive, and effective, helping students improve their grades while developing genuine curiosity and critical thinking in both subjects.

I teach A Level Sociology and Media Studies through an interactive and student-centred approach. My lessons focus on helping students understand complex theories, develop strong essay-writing skills, and apply sociological and media concepts to real-world contexts. Each session (usually 60–90 minutes) combines discussion, guided analysis, and exam-style practice to build confidence and critical thinking. I’m currently studying Human, Social, and Political Sciences at Cambridge University, specialising in Sociology and Social Anthropology. Having achieved A*s in both Sociology and Media Studies at A Level - and finishing top of my Media class - I understand what examiners look for and how to achieve high grades. My lessons are designed for A Level students aged 16–19 who want to strengthen their understanding, improve essay technique, and gain a deeper appreciation for how society and media shape our world.
