About ILKEM

I am a postdoc at the University of Cambridge, focusing on gene therapy. I completed my PhD in Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Cambridge, MRes in Bioengineering (Imperial College) with Distinction (Best Student Prize), and BSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics (First-Class Honours) as the Best-ranked student. With 7 years of teaching/tutoring experience, I've worked with students at various levels, both online and in-person, in 1-1 sessions, groups, and whole classes. The topics I have been teaching include a variety of Biology-related subjects: Biotechnology, Genetics, Neuroscience, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Microbiology, and Biostatistics. My passion for learning has taken me through diverse internships globally, exposing me to Stem Cell Biology, Molecular Neurobiology, Biological Clocks, Plant Biotechnology, Medical Genetics, and Tissue Regeneration and Biomaterials Laboratories. I'm eager to share my knowledge and experience with you!

About the lesson

I love tutoring students and sharing my enthusiasm with them! In my tutorials, I provide my students with a personally tailored tutoring experience where they can extend the content. My tutorials are student centred! It means that they rely on the interaction between us; our discussions on the biological questions, rather than mono-dialogue lectures. During the tutorials, I will assess how you are progressing through quizzes and written essays. I have a great deal of experience as a university teaching assistant, online supervisor and tutor for both university and high school students. Hope to see you in the class soon!
