About Conor
I am a final year PhD student in philosophy with degrees from the University of Cambridge and King's College London.
Before starting my PhD, I also worked in the City for seven years as a consultant, advising and assisting clients with various commercial and technical challenges.
I am a real believer in the educational value of the humanities, especially philosophy!

My approach to tutoring is always tailored to the clients' specific objectives and any relevant standards (e.g. a particular exam board curriculum). I am happy to discuss exactly what you want from tutoring in advance of the first lesson and adjust my approach accordingly.
Lessons draw on my experience tutoring university students in the course of my PhD studies but I am comfortable instructing to all levels.
I have led discussion groups and mentored individual students in a range of modules over the last three years, including epistemology, philosophy of science, early modern philosophy, ethics, and political philosophy.
Sessions last for one hour.
A typical lesson consists in a reading exercise on that lesson's topic, followed by questions to test comprehension of the material, with explanations and corrections supplied as required. A speaking or writing exercise involving paraphrasing and explaining the material to demonstrate recall and understanding follows.
Advanced students may also benefit from review of the assigned material and the results of their writing exercise in a supervision/tutorial type format where the topic and their work is freely discussed.
Elements of study skills and exam technique will be included as required.
