About Aylyne

My name is Aylyne, and the reason I'm so motivated to share my language skills is that I've always loved English. It seems incredibly simple to me, and I used to wonder why my classmates were so bad at it. I used to laugh about it, but everyone has their own struggles. With hindsight and age, I've learned more and more, including that I'm really bad at German. I felt like I was in the shoes of someone who struggles with English and wanted to help them, so I'm going to help them with German. Thanks to that classmate who helped me! Most of the time, words sound similar in English, so you really have to compare them with other words. I studied conjugation a lot in middle and high school... but anything related to methodology, like listening comprehension, reading comprehension, written expression, and oral expression, is my strong point. Actually, English is my strong point.

About the lesson

I've never actually given formal tutoring to students, but I've always helped my classmates with their homework or asked me for help with the meaning or translation of a word. I'm 17 years old, turning 18 at the end of the year, and I've traveled extensively. My parents don't even speak English, which makes using my language skills even more important. I'm still young, so playing video games and spending time on my phone whenever I have free time allows me to stay connected to this language, which I truly value, especially since some of my relatives were of English-speaking origin. The fact that I'm always in demand because of my language skills makes me a great teacher. Also, when I help my classmates, I correct them and give them an oral demonstration of the word they can't find (I say the word aloud so they can hear the accent). I am very methodical and could teach my future students the intricacies of English, given my rich Anglo-Saxon and American background from my English Language, Literature, and Civilization studies in high school. This means I wouldn't just teach English grammar, spoken vocabulary, and corrections, but also share my knowledge and experiences, such as seeing The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre in London and other English-language theatres in France, watching English films, and speaking fluent English on social media.
