About Megan
Is your child needing extra help with learning to read? Do they love to listen to stories, but get frustrated at reading on their own? My name is Megan, and I am here to help! I am now offering Online Literacy Support – Build Confidence & a Love of Reading! About Me: -Canadian (British Columbia) Certified Elementary Teacher with 7 years of experience in education -Currently completing Orton-Gillingham Practitioner Training -Specializing in supporting neurodiverse learners, including students with ADHD, dyslexia, and other unique learning profiles I have been working with the Orton-Gillingham approach for 1.5 years, and recently completed the coursework to become an OG Practitioner. Currently I am waiting to complete my final practicum for this specialization. In the meantime, I am offering online tutoring sessions based on the OG approach.

My structured literacy lessons are based on the Orton Gillingham approach, involving phonological/phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Concepts are frequently reviewed during our sessions through structured practice and play.
All lessons are held over Zoom.
I use:

-an interactive whiteboard
-flashcards
-PDFs for stories
-online reading spinners
-reading games
These lessons are suggested for elementary school-aged students (5 -12) who need extra one-to-one support for developing their reading skills and confidence! At the end of every session I provide written feedback and practice materials to reinforce concepts from our session.
