About Dilly
I am a creative, reliable and ambitious person, with a 1st class BSc (Hons) degree in Sociology with Quantitative Methods and 2 years’ industry experience.
With experience working with children and adults in guided learning and tutoring sessions both during my degree and as a volunteer, I am looking to turn my passion for sharing knowledge into a career. I have a variety of specialisations and, though particularly focusing on Sociology, my experience in the arts and humanities means I can tutor a range of subjects with professional planning guided by targeted learning outcomes.
Outside of tutoring, I love spending time outdoors both exploring and photographing nature, and also love doing independent learning on things that interest me. I want to pass on my passion for improving myself to my students, and encourage you to think critically and unbiasedly.
My personal philosophy is that anything and everything can be captivatingly interesting if you look at it in the right way; learning shouldn't just be about reaching goals, but truly appreciating the complex world around us.

As a tutor, I strive to provide a safe and supportive space for students to improve their confidence both within their given subject as well as in their examinations, essays and controlled assessments.
My lessons usually last between 45 minutes and an hour, and will be split into to sections. This is to ensure we have space for me to coach using personalised, pre-planned material and also to provide time for the student to bring their primary concerns and goals to discussion. My primary goal in each lesson is to shape the learning to each individual student in order to provide a solid base of subject understanding. As someone with experience of both Dyslexia and ADHD, I am able to adjust lessons to fit every person's unique needs.
I hold a 1st class BSc in Sociology with Quantitative Methods, and tutored both Sociology and essay writing skills at degree level to my peers throughout my studies. I also hold a Gold LAMDA qualification in performance, and experience of the arts (Drama, Music and Art) and humanities (Geography, History and RS) up to A-Lev
