About Kaj

I have completed a BSc in Physics and qualified for a BA in Psychology simultaneously. I am currently completing my honors in Psychology. I have 6 years of one-on-one private tutoring experience during which I accumulated over 4000 hours of lessons. I have experience teaching GDE, IEB, CIE, IB, and UK syllabi as well as experience preparing students for the South African NBT and the international SAT English and SAT Math university entrance exam. I also have over 250 hours recorded where I specifically helped students with study skills, time management, stress management, and exam techniques to assist the learning process and help them become as independent of me as possible. I have experience assisting students diagnosed with ADD, depression, burnout, slow processing speed, and low fluid memory - all of which has given me a level of patience that I will be happy to extend to you in our lessons.

About the lesson

I am a firm believer of "understanding" over "knowing". My goal will be to show you the beauty that academia can provide and to draw out its usefulness beyond the boundaries set in the classroom. Once our lessons are concluded my hope is that you will have such an internal understanding of the content that you will literally see the world around you with a new perspective - one of beauty and awe. Above all else, I will make a promise to you that I will seek first to understand, then to be understood. The best way to learn something is to teach it to someone, and so I will commit myself to a journey of discovery along with you so that we always see eye to eye and never lose each other in thought or understanding as we make our way to your success.

Details

If I need to travel more than 10km then I will charge an additional R50 per 10km. This additional rate will not apply if the lesson is done online.

If a lesson is cancelled 30 minutes prior to the starting time set for the lesson then I will charge R100 for the lesson.
