About Finn
I am what might be described as a high achiever from a disadvantaged background. I have always been driven to do well in my studies, but I understand that external circumstances, neurological differences, and difficulty in getting one-on-one time with teachers can make learning extraordinarily difficult.
It is my goal to help bridge that gap. Our sessions will be a safe space for mistakes, preferred names and pronouns, and sensory needs so that we can focus on getting the most out of your education. I do not expect perfection, I expect growth.
I achieved DUX in my final year of high school and have maintained a HD average throughout my university career.

I am a firm believer that no single teaching method works for all students. We all have different needs, resources, and approaches for learning which can only be addressed through treating the student as an individual.
Our first session will be a short, (free) 30-minute session where we can:
1. Get to know each other a bit - I'll ask you some questions about your learning style, study environment, and resources so I can tailor our sessions to you
2. Discuss your goals and current performance
3. Identify key areas for improvement
Subsequent sessions will be either 45 minutes, 1 hour, or 1.5 hours (with a 10-minute break), depending on your preferences and availability. The content of these sessions is flexible, but may include:
- Working through classwork/questions and breaking down difficult concepts
- Revision activities (e.g. cue cards, mind-mapping, development of revision posters, quizzes)
- Preparation for upcoming assignments or tests
- Assistance with homework
- Developing healthy study habits
My specialisations are chemistry and biochemistry, however I have also completed foundational biology subjects at university and am comfortable with general sciences for years 7-10. I offer chemistry and biology lessons for VCE students. I am also happy to provide one-off sessions to help students understand and develop study habits to suit their learning style.
