About SHANZID

Welcome! My name is Shanzid Hasan. Are you ready to master the most challenging aspects of chemistry and secure top-tier A* grades? As a British Council certified O & A Level Chemistry Teacher with over 9 years of elite classroom experience at leading institutions, I specialize in breaking down advanced, high-level chemistry concepts into clear, intuitive steps. Whether you are tackling complex transition metal chemistry (such as ligand substitution, complex ion color transitions, and redox titrations), deciphering advanced organic reaction mechanisms (including nucleophilic addition, elimination, and aromatic electrophilic substitution), or mastering rigorous physical chemistry topics like reaction kinetics, stereochemistry, entropy, and Gibbs free energy calculations, my lessons provide the absolute clarity you need. My teaching is backed by advanced scientific training, holding a Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) degree from the University of Asia Pacific. Unlike standard tutors, I bring genuine research depth and real-world scientific insight to my sessions as an active author of 7 peer-reviewed international journal publications. By combining rigorous academic standards, structured problem-solving, and personalized mentorship, I empower students to master intricate concepts, ace their international board examinations, and build lifelong academic confidence.

About the lesson

I utilize an interactive, inquiry-based teaching style. Instead of relying on passive memorization, I guide students through core principles step-by-step using visual models, real-world examples, and structured problem-solving. Drawing from my Master of Pharmacy background and research experience, I bring real-world scientific applications directly into my explanation.
My lessons begin with a 15 to 20-minute interactive explanation of key theoretical concepts, followed by 15 to 20 minutes of guided practice working through problem sets, reaction mechanisms, and calculations together. We then spend 15 to 20 minutes analyzing actual board exam questions to align answers with official marking schemes, concluding with a 5-minute Q&A session to review doubts and set structured practice tasks.
My lessons are tailored for O/A Level, High School, and Pre-University students studying Cambridge (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel, as well as International Baccalaureate (IB), AQA, and Advanced Placement (AP) curricula.
