About Katie

I am an English and History student attending the University of Bristol. I have a DVS and am currently tutoring an 8-year-old boy, KS2 history, each week. While also volunteering for Tutor the Nation, I tutor one hour a week a child from a disadvantaged background. Before both of these positions, while I was at school, I would mentor younger students in various subjects, however, mainly focusing on English and History.

About the lesson

My aim when helping with essay subjects such as English or History is to make sure the student understands the essay structure clearly and has the skills to be able to write a clear concise answer while understanding what the question is asking. I find many students who take humanity subjects understand the content or sometimes need help reviewing the information but mainly they struggle to understand what the exam board wants or how write a clear answer for the question. I can assist students from year 7 onwards on a wider level of there curricular or specially help GCSE students with English Literature or Language History and can also help A-Level students with History or English Literature.
