About Karina
My name is Karina, and I am a recent graduate of Boston University with extensive experience in academic writing, reading comprehension, public speaking, and professional communication. I have conducted research connected to the United Nations and at Harvard University, where I worked on projects related to international affairs, public policy, and global issues that required strong writing, editing, and analytical skills.
In addition to my professional experience, I have tutored both children and college students. I understand that every student learns differently, and I focus on creating a patient, encouraging, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing at their own pace.
I am passionate about helping students improve their English reading and writing abilities while also building strong long-term skills. My lessons are personalized, engaging, and designed to help students reach their academic and personal goals.

I tailor each session to the student’s goals, whether they need help with reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, or conversational English. A typical lesson includes a short review, targeted reading or writing activities, feedback and corrections, and goal-setting for improvement.
What sets me apart is my experience in academic writing, public speaking, history, and international communication through my work as a diplomat at the United Nations, history coursework, and research at Harvard. I understand how to adapt lessons for different topics, learning styles, and academic levels. I also make sure to work with students at their own pace, having experience tutoring children with learning disabilities. It is important for me to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing their skills.
My lessons are designed for middle school, high school, and university students, as well as adult learners seeking to improve English reading and writing for academics, professional work, or everyday communication.
